Decision time for exploring the world via house and pet sitting arrangements. After kicking around a hundred problems that might come up, such as… what if:
- we don’t like the food
- we don’t understand the bus/train system
- we run late for a gig
- they run late to relieve us
- it gets colder than we thought it would
- we need medical services
- we miss our connections
- the critters misbehave
- the pictures were deceiving
- we lose our passports
- the bed is shorter than us
- the dogs don’t like us
Decision made. We are going to explore the world as much as possible for as long as we want.
We are claiming our freedom. Yes, our freedom to be happy, to explore, and to experience living fully.
Oh, who are ‘we’. SharonAnn & Dan, met in the Pacific Northwest and decided to experience the world together sharing their love of pets. And small villages, seaside tavernas, museums, shaped around caring for fur babies of all kinds as well as their homes.
Initial goals: to petsit/housesit for homeowners who are traveling. Pets need lots of love, and we have lots to share. We want to experience and explore the cultural delights of the places of the world, one petsit/home at a time. We are starting with Seattle, then on to Europe. Ideally, small villages and city neighborhoods will give us the flavor of ‘going native’. We want to love our ‘animals’, to make new friends, to caretake our ‘homes’, meet the owners, make new friends, and neighbors, eat local farm to table, enjoy regional wine, make new friends, learn the language, figure out transportation and, of course, make new friends.
What do we do next?
Get pet sitting/house and gigs locally to see if we like it. And to build up recommendations. To delight in new pet friends and to learn our own area better.
